The number of international students in Missouri grew by more than 18 percent during the 2009–2010 academic school year. According to a report issued by the Institute of International Education, the current number of international students who study in Missouri is about 13,360. Missouri is ranked 16th in the nation for its ability to attract international students. This is due in part to the variety of excellent universities and colleges for international students to choose from.

Missouri State University (MSU) is located in the southwest region of the state in the city of Springfield, about 215 miles from St. Louis. Students at Missouri State can explore nearly 100 bachelor’s degrees and more than 40 master’s degrees, including in the fields of business, health, and political science. The university offers much to do outside the classroom as well.
